***This is volume 2 of five only*** The compounds described in these volumes are arranged in alphabetical order. The dictionary is thus its own index to make relevant data and information as accessible as possible. All entries from the preceding edition have been retained, but have been revised and extended as necessary. The dictionary further includes some 5000 new entries. The fourth edition is about 40's percent larger than its predecessor and to maintain the ease of reference appears now in five volumes instead of four. This dictionary consists of all known organic compounds the Constitution and physical, chemical and other properties of all principal carbon compounds and their derivatives together with relevant literature references.
