von Gerkan, Marg und Partner: Architecture 2000-2001 (German and English Edition)

The Trade Fair in Rimini, the Tempodrom in Berlin, the casino in Bad Steben, Frankfurt's Waldstadion, the Art-Kite Museum in Detmold, the Tourism Centre in Hangzhou, China, the Fisher chapel in Heiligenhafen by the Baltic sea - these are just a few of the 17 buildings and 35 projects which were planned or built in 2000-2001, and which are documented extensively in this volume with sketches, plans, models and colour photographs. In many of gmp's more recent buildings, wood plays an major role, either as a supporting structure, an interior or exterior wall covering, or for acoustic reasons. The book opens with an introductory dialogue between Meinhard von Gerkan, Volkwin Marg and the journalist Oliver G. Hamm: it focuses on China where gmp is currently active, Berlin's architectural arena, architectural competitions, and the continuity and change within von Gerkan, Marg und Partner.
