Description
The science of Genetics is a new one, and there are questions as to whether it is a foolproof pursuit, and that the end results would always be what they should be. If a shark could be genetically altered in such a manner as to be useful in the realm of anti-submarine warfare, what would happen if, through one quirk or another, the shark involved developed minds of their own? What happens then? Jammer, a substantial female Great White Shark of considerable strength, power is born…and, as a result of her altered DNA, she has enhanced intelligence.
Meet Doctor Sandra Batherton and her partner Doctor William Cinia, the Jammer-unit handler, reputed friends and designers of the enhanced DNA. The Jammer Project resides on Dillman’s Island, a man-made island fashioned over a cavernous, casement bay in southern Florida. On this island, complete with business areas, hotels, resort facilities, marina and sandy beaches, a single bunker type building, a short distance from an on-island aquarium leads to the underwater, under-island facility for the Jammer Project.
Floating at the end of mooring cables, within the casement bay, hovers a unique, underwater laboratory fashioned from three converted World War II submarines, which were combined into one mobile underwater vessel and lab. On either side, also moored at the end of cables, float two additional submarines of the same World War II Fleet-type submarines, completely capable and fully operational. What goes on in this mysterious complex?
How does a professional diver and shark handler, Buddy Shies, fit into the picture? His blond hair, tan skin, blue eyes, and nice build proclaim him a beach maven, but there is a keen mind at work in this semi-Adonis figure.
A shark that thinks for itself, and is no longer contained in the casement bay could end up in the wrong hands, and if this happens, the situation could endanger a well-intended mission by the United States government, as well as endangering the entire marine operations of said government. If this happens, Batherton, Cinia and Shies might be called upon to perform duties far beyond their abilities. It could be a matter of life and death for the few in pursuit of peace and safety for the many…………...
