Evidence-Based Practice and the Importance of Descriptive Research

This article provides evidence that descriptive research is important to evidence-based practice in social work, nursing, psychology, medicine, and all of the other helping professors. Research on resilience, gender, and neurobiology is important for understanding service users so that practitioners can draw upon the best available interventions that fit particular service users. Evidence-based practice is best understood as evidence-based assessments, evidence-based interventions, and evidence-based evaluation.
