Not all is wicked, however. There are unexpected kindnesses and devotion as characters are seen to help one another escape from the "cobweb of Hell." Some choose to remain enmeshed there with a loved one. Some repent or interact with an angel and are saved.
Here, though, are consuming emotions, single-minded pursuits, desperation, violence and fatalism. Here, too, are loves of all names – eros and agape, lust and true love.
