Mantiq Al-Tayr (The Conference of the Birds): A Fable in Persian

Mantiq Al-Tayr (منطق الطیر), or Conference of the Birds, is an allegorical series of poems about a flock who fly over the world in search of their leader. The tale uses a journey by a group of 30 birds, led by a hoopoe, as an allegory of a Sufi sheikh or master leading his pupils to enlightenment. This edition includes bibliographical references and an index. The text is entirely in Persian (Farsi).
