Stir in Anna, Whit’s absentee wife-cum-lawyer, Saul, a renegade ex-cop from Chicago, the Shack Pack, and a Mexican named Jesús, and you’ll be flipping pages like a skier bumping moguls.

If you like intelligent thrillers, pour a glass of something fine and snuggle in. This is a tale well told.
