From the author: There has been some speculation within the Data Center Industry that a source of contamination that may negatively impact the life of the IT equipment may be the blower system belts in the CRAH units. Rather than debate the impact "belt dust" may have on the IT equipment, this paper is a study of the actual design of the belts and sheaves to determine if there is a potential to eliminate the wear on the belts, thus eliminating the potential for belt dust.
