Description

Jack London is best known for his stories about Alaska, the Yukon and the great Klondike Gold Rush. Most if not all of us have read The Call of the Wild and White Fang in grade school. The Northern Tales, however, made up only a part of Jack London's work.

Stories of the South and the Sea is a collection of 56 stories set in Hawaii, the Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, the open sea, and back on the American continent: California, Oregon and Mexico. Written in the same enthralling style as the stories we have come to know and love, they are exhilirating, touching, exciting,--above all--human.

This collection includes both London's better-known Southern stories, such as the South Sea Tales (1911) and On the Makaloa Mat (1919), but also the more obscure A Son of the Sun (1912), Tales of the Fish Patrol (1905), which are based on London's childhood in San Fransisco, and Dutch Courage (1922), a collection of very early stories that London did not want published during his lifetime, and which only became known after his death.

This collection was NOT merely scanned from an ink-and-paper book, like many Kindle e-books are. All e-books offered by Di Lernia Publishers are hand-edited and checked for spelling and punctuation errors.
