Free Flight (The Ascension of Man)

Ben Drumm is an engineer who likes to tinker in his shop. He decides to build his own urban legend - a copy of the fabulous space drive that was rumored decades ago. He is every bit as surprised as his friends when it actually works. Now the race is on – he and his friends have a space drive that can be built from common materials and doesn’t need a million pounds of fuel to get into orbit…and it’s in private hands. Can they find a way to get the drive into production before it's snatched away by some corporation or declared a government secret? Can they even live through the experience? One thing is certain, the drive will change the world and nothing will ever be the same.
