Expenditure Report - Maharashtra

The report begins with a brief profile of the population, and how it is expected to change over the next 20 years in terms of total size, age profile, household size and number of households. It then details the overall trend in distribution of households by income level and for each of four income segments the proportion that is saved, taxes and consumption expenditure.

The next section looks at the total savings by all households and then by income segment through to 2030. This is followed by a section on total expenditure by all households as well as by each of four income segments. This shows the value and trend of total expenditure as well as per household. This is then followed by analysis of expenditure by all households and by income segment on the 12 expenditure categories : (Where relevant this is done separately for Urban and Rural households).
