Call Control: The Shift in User Base in Western Europe, 2008-2014
Description
Triggered by the economic recession and new technology, voice spending and usage patterns are changing. This document is the first of a series that will explore how call control will change across Europe over the next five years, including the demise of traditional voice, the growth of hosted solutions, and the impact of unified communications and collaboration on the market.
"Premises-based call control continues to dominate the enterprise during the forecast period. However, there is huge interest in hosted voice: the opex model is the key feature of this type of voice service and fits well in the uncertain economic climate at present. The model does not need any capital upfront and gives flexibility, scalability, and predictability of costs," said Chris Barnard, research director, EMEA Telecoms and Networking.
