Essays on Bertrand Russell

Bertrand Russell's philosophical works cover a span of almost seven decades, and his philosophical influence, both direct and indirect, has been unequaled over this long period. Many of Russell's ideas have stimulated continuing controversy, and numerous significant articles have been published which deal with various aspects of his thought. Assembled here are twenty-six such essays, ten written especially for this volume. The editor has arranged the articles under these main headings: Russell's ontology, his theories of reference and descriptions, and his philosophy of logic and mathematics.
