Apollo and Dionysus

The insanities of modern humanity have roiled the venerable deities of Olympus unlike any human era since Greece and Troy clashed in a savage battle of mutual annihilation. Fearing that human evolution has transformed the species into more threat than pet, Zeus decides to send two immortals into the terrestrial realm for the first time in over two thousand years. Conspiring with Athena, the crafty goddess of wisdom, Zeus tricks his two headstrong sons, Apollo and Dionysus, into spending one mortal lifetime as humans.

Robbed of their divine powers and Olympian memories, the involuntarily earthbound deities soon fall victim to their extreme impulses and deistic wills as they struggle against the complexities of the unfamiliar mortal realm. Dionysus' willful enslavement to his passions and his tireless pursuit of sensual pleasures land him in jail. Apollo's intellectual arrogance and overwhelming hubris extinguish his boundless potential, trapping him within a perpetual cycle of failure. Independently incapable of compromise or moderation, the errant brothers soon threaten to derail the vital Olympian project. Increasingly frustrated by the impending failure of his grand designs, Zeus unleashes the Muses to guide his wayward sons back along the paths of their fated destinies.

Emboldened by the subtle machinations of the inspirational deities, Apollo and Dionysus begin stumbling through the world and they discover a planet and its people locked in crisis. As they confront the perplexing riddles of humanity's most confounding problems, they glimpse the brightest potentials and darkest horrors locked within the wells of the human soul. Terrified and amazed by what they learn, the celestial siblings also grapple with the emotionally devastating enigmas of honor and sacrifice, love and sex, valor and cowardice, and that ever-present specter of mortal existence: death. What the grounded gods discover during their time on earth will ultimately decide the fate of the entire human race.
