Description
Professor Sebastian Kaiserling, while on a pre-expeditionary field trip to the Yucatan, stumbles upon, what he believes to be, a large intricately carved Mayan stone block. Further examination reveals that the block is, in fact, a finely crafted chest, containing a metal-like plaque decorated with unusual markings. Despite the assistance of metallurgists, chemists, and linguists all initial attempts at deciphering the inscriptions and symbols and uncovering the origin of the chest and plaque prove futile.
A first-year anthropology graduate student, Heli Mittenwallenberger-Langley unravels the origin of the chest and plaque by breaking the progressive code used by the chest’s makers. The mystery of the plaque is solved by Heli’s father, a world renown mathematician and cosmographer, and Vladi Vassilieva. They discover that the plaque contains Stargate-type coordinates but the coordinates do not correspond to known space. They may, however, represent coordinates in an unknown alternate or possibly one of several multiverses that exist within the dark matter and dark energy universe, of which we no virtually nothing.
Heli’s translations suggest that the Zetuxili visited Earth 10,000 and again 5,000 years ago, to stimulate human civilization, imparting skills and knowledge, which was thought to have been independently invented by the Earth’s primary culture hearths. When they left for the last time, they left behind chests similar to the one found by Sebastian, to serve as a beacon, should Mankind discover and decode it.
The U.S. military uncovers the research of Sebastian’s team and wishes to quash the team’s desire to publicize that aliens do exist, because, since the Roswell Incident, the U.S. government has conspired clandestinely with the Niribui, the ‘Grays,’ through the exchange of technology. The U.S. Air Force is coerced into cooperating with Sebastian’s team, and they activate the beacon, summoning Itzamná, the leader of the Zetuxili expedition.
Itzamná confides that the Niribui have been visiting Earth for millennia and are preparing for a full-scale invasion. He offers planetary defense systems, which have the capacity to defend and reshape a violent and turbulent Earth by eliminating all forms of violence.
Is Itzamná all he seems to be or, does he have a hidden agenda equally sinister as that of the Niribui?
