Art Basics for Children

This very popular book is perfect for beginners in art. Even adults would enjoy this book. This book is geared for your little ones ages 5 through 10, but all ages who don't have a lot of experience with art could use it, including adults. Basic shapes, early elementary vocabulary and numbers, and beginning sounds are interspersed with appreciation of master works of art. With each letter of the alphabet is a different art concept and hands on project. An example would be "B" is for ball. Can you draw a ball? A pattern is a repeated design. Can you put a yellow, orange and red pattern on the ball? Red, yellow and orange are hot colors. They draw and shade the ball and put a hot color pattern on it. For "G" they draw grapes and put them on a yellow background, learning that yellow and purple are complementary colors.
