Description

John Anderson describes himself as an ordinary working class man from Yorkshire, England, who has had an extraordinary life, crippled by terror and trepidation and an inspiring healing journey that has brought him to wholeness. As a child he was subjected to severe physical, emotional and sexual abuse and suffered three near-death-experiences before he was ten years old; the abuse was denied, John was given no support and he had to deal with his pain by shutting it away. Driven on by fear and foreboding, he grew up to become a self-possessed, over-achieving engineer and then successful business man in the world of Information Technology, although he continued to be plagued with the manifestations of his unacknowledged past. After suffering two mental breakdowns, he was eventually diagnosed with post-traumatic-stress-disorder, as a result of his childhood abuse, with the prognosis that he would never return to full health.
After marrying quite young, John’s wife produced a baby boy Simon, who after a very difficult birth process, eventually developed learning difficulties and intractable epilepsy. Simon was involved in a serious car accident in 2000 when he almost died, which reactivated John’s condition and plummeted them both into their own private nightmare. This is the story and resulting vision of John’s journey to hell and back, how he transformed his traumas and produced a path to peace that he now presents, for the first time in this book. The resulting process has taken him from being an aggressive, arrogant and acquisitive individual, trying to deny his fears and run away from his pain, into a man who is determined to embrace and accept every aspect of his being and that of others, through forgiveness, love and understanding.
