Description
Hilda Doolittle, named "H. D. Imagiste" by Ezra Pound, was an incredibly important author who helped to forge a path for modern and post-modern literature. She was actually engaged to Pound, the founder of Imagism, but her father did not approve of him, and their relationship did not last. Her life was overshadows by world-wide wars, littered with broken relationships, and she was haunted by the death of her brother.
She sought out to understand herself, her sexuality, and to cope with her fears (at the time considered to be paranoid) that the rise of Adolf Hitler would plunge the world into a second World War.
Throughout the 1970's, her books were totemic throughout the Feminist movement, and as an open and unapologetic bisexual, she also played an iconic role in the Gay Rights movement.
While the poems published here are all in the public domain, they have been carefully collected, formatted, and reproduced into this high-quality e-book in an attempt to present them to a new generation of readers.
