The Feast, by the author of "The Constant Nymph"

In the first few pages, the reader will discover the disster that brings death to some of the people in the book, and makes life possible for many others. The seven who die may suggest the seven deadly sins- but they are men and women first so tangible one could shake their hands. The setting is a large house on the Englsh coast that has been turned into a summr hotel.
