Though this book is written as fiction almost all of it is factual. The voyage from Fort Lauderdale to Newport, Rhode Island is exactly as experienced by the Author. Other incidents in the book were either experienced by the Author or related to him. These facts formed the basis of the many lectures on the subject given by the Author both in the U.K. and South Africa.
All Characters in the book are fictitious.
The Bermuda Triangle has, for many years, been the subject of many books, documentaries and films. It is a fact that many ships, and more recently aircraft, have disappeared in the area over the centuries; disappeared without trace. There have been no distress messages, no survivors, no wreckage, no oil slick, no evidence whatsoever of the fate that had befallen both the craft and their crews. There have been many theories put forward including men from outer space, sea monsters, the lost city of Atlantis. The triangle is situated in the western Atlantic and eastern Caribbean with Bermuda as its northern apex.
Lloyd's Underwriters, concerned at the increasing number of losses, ask Charlesworth, an ex Naval Officer and known as Charlie, to sail his racing yacht, "Mashona", into the area and to carryout a detailed investigation. Charlesworth agrees, subject to financial arrangements and to the agreement of his Partner, Christina Valee.
Having reached agreement he sails in his yacht 'Mashona' with Christina and a crew recruited from Lloyd's Yacht Club, ostensibly to race off the east coast of the States.
After sailing through the Triangle Charlesworth believes that he has solved a large part of the mystery but recognises that there are many more losses to be investigated .He decides to investigate drug running and organized crime.
Let the Reader decide whether Charlesworth has solved the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle or whether much remains unexplained. Are U.F.O's , sea monsters, the Lost City of Atlantis or the so called time warp a part of the cause?
