In the novel WHIRLPOOL, a team of eight scientists races to study a giant whirlpool that has sprouted near a remote tropical island. Although the expedition begins smoothly, the scientists soon encounter the dark side of Mother Nature. With the arrival of a Pacific typhoon, storm and whirlpool form a destructive combination that turns the expedition into a battle against Nature's fury. As the casualties mount, the chances of survival spiral toward certain death…
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Drew Gann was born in Malaysia and raised in Pennsylvania. He studied biology and conducted research on deep-sea hydrothermal vent animals at Harvard University. Gann currently works for a scientific research institution in the San Francisco Bay Area.
