Set in the near future, 9.99.9 (Nine, Ninety-Nine, Nine) is the story of the complete and utter collapse of the United States of America as told by one of its architects, former Steadfast Oil & Gas executive Roger Edinger. Like America herself, Edinger's tale is ripe with political corruption, sexual deviance, exquisite violence, hypocrisy, narcissism and renaissance.

Edinger confesses his saga to BBC reporter Christina Sullivan. Because of the explosive nature of the subject matter the interview is done on the lamb as everyone from media moguls to world leaders wants Edinger silenced at any cost. Sullivan's own life has been an emotional roller-coaster but it is one that has made her the perfect companion to the tormented and fractured Edinger.

The two sometimes-lovers are joined on their disjointed dash across Europe by a host of colorful characters including a gun-wielding grandmother, a disenfranchised countess, a brash young IRA soldier and Black - Edinger's mysterious bodyguard. In order to secure the stash of corroborating evidence this troop will take an unlikely path from Paris to Rome by way of Belgium, Ireland and Norway before ultimately ending up in the new seat of the western world's power Atlanta, GA. There this twisted affair comes to a crescendo as ideology collides head-on with cold, indifferent justice.

Although history cannot ignore Edinger's part in the destruction of the grandest civilization in history it also must record him as one of its greatest patriots. The revelations contained in his story have the potential to overthrow governments and spawn revolution. All he has to do is live long enough to get the message out.
