Description
Highway Mothman is a fictional short story written by Guy Foster involving a Mothman encounter similar to those that occurred and were reported from Point Pleasant, West Virginia in 1966 and 1967. The author has written several such stories to date, and although fictional, the reader will enjoy a more complete and elaborate story compared with many of the 'so called' actual events. Please realize that this is not a full book. It is merely a short story of some 4,000 words or so. The author has written four other such stories to date including;
“A Mothmanâ€
“Another Mothman Storyâ€
“My Encounter With Mothmanâ€
"A Mothman BooBoo"
The first three stories are available as a trilogy and together run about 52 pages.
You will find all of these stories, plus the trilogy available on Kindle. All of these short stories are available individually on Kindle for $2.99 each. Now for a little synopsis about each encounter:
In the first story; “A Mothman†- three cousins meet on the family farm and discuss the strange death of Uncle Ed some years earlier. Uncle Ed had been found brutally killed by an unknown beast in the front pasture of the farm. His shotgun was with him but remained unfired. The mystery of Uncle Ed’s death is solved when two of the cousins dare the other to go out in the dark alone to the spot that Uncle Ed died. An encounter with Mothman unfolds in chilling detail and suspense. This story runs over 10+ pages.
In “Another Mothman Story†Mark and Greg encounter Mothman in the sky while flying in their Cessna airplane. Earlier that night a female Mothwoman had been killed by a commercial airport while landing at the airport. Is Mothman prepared to extract vengeance on the two men and bring them down? You will be amazed at the descriptive air to air encounter between the men, their plane and Mothman and the chilling conclusion that saves their lives. The author is a pilot himself that owned 11 small airplanes over the years. He is capable of writing scenes with the kind of reality one would expect to encounter between a light airplane and Mothman. This story runs over 20+ pages.
In “My Encounter With Mothman†Fred comes home from work and is surprised by Mothman when he goes out to his backyard to feed his bullfrogs. A physical confrontation evolves into a ‘cat and mouse’ game of the most thrilling proportions. Neither prevails - but the goings on between rounds of the fight will keep you in suspense to the end. You will be especially amused at what the ER Doctor finds with Fred later at the hospital. This story runs about 10 pages.
In a "Mothman BooBoo" we learn that mistakes will happen. A series of mistakes brings this self described skeptic into a confrontation with Mothman at his place of work that you will never forget. This story is around 14 pages.
This latest story; Highway Mothman - is a very sad tale of love and sacrifice. Based on the old poem 'The HIghwayman" - Mothman tries to save his mate from a group of greedy hunters intent to capture them both. Before reading this story be sure that your emotions can stand a beating because such a tragedy has not been written since Romeo and Juliet.
Caution – These stories are not meant for audiences under 15 years old owing to violence, fright and stirring emotions that may cause nightmares or bouts of melancholy in the uninitiated.
