Description
How to play Morra DVD and booklet enclosed. The game of Morra dates back to ancient Rome. The Romans called the game "Micare Digitis' literally to flash with fingers. It was told,in the Roman Empire to confirm the dignity of a man "you can play Micare with him in darkness". It was used to solve disagreements, also the selling and trading of goods. As time passed it was referred to as Morra a corruption of the verb Micare. For centuries the game became more and more social, being played in public parks and taverns. During it's colorful history Morra was illegal at times because of gambling. The combination of winning and Morra, caused "heated moments" leading to disruptive conduct. "Fate la Morra non la Guerra make Morra not war" was a reminder to players who became a bit frisky. Morra then went into households and was enjoyed at festive dinners and gatherings. It became entrenched with Italian families and remains a popular part of its culture. There are two styles of play. In northern Italy it is played while sitting, in southern Italy played standing. Historically the game has been played by men only. This project is presented to hopefully enable the "wonderful family and friends game of Morra" to become more popular and have women and children realize they are most welcome play the game as well. Morra is a game of great passion and fun to be enjoyed by all!
