The Cricket

The Cricket immerses the reader in an era encompassing one of America’s major conflicts, WWII and beyond, through the eyes and experiences of Rick Zorn. Through Rick they experience the maturation of a young inexperienced man from pre WWIII, as he matures into a soldier and finally a combat bomber pilot, senior officer and hero. This was indeed, a serpentine path for him to follow in order to accomplish it all. It is evident that the author has experienced this evolution on a personal level.
This novel transports the reader back to an era far different from that of today and give them a broad perspective on a time span which forever changed and transformed our country. The plot, while easy to follow, affords many surprising avenues of romance and intrigue and provides a unique perspective on this tumultuous time. It is written in a effortless style and cadence which smoothly conveys the reader back to this time and places described. Young readers will vicariously experience the history of this time while more mature audiences who have lived through these events will be transported back to and relieve an earlier period of their lives.
