In 1890 the First Corps of Cadets, Massachusetts Volunteer Militia began an fundraising campaign based on amateur theatricals with a goal of raising sufficient funds to build an armory.. They engaged Robert A. Barnet who wrote these extravaganzas where the cadets played all the roles. Injured Innocents was the first of these productions and Barnet played the role of Henry Rufyan. The campaign was successful and the armory which was completed in 1897 is known as the Park Plaza Castle.
