UP: An Adventure In Michigan's Upper Peninsula 2011

"UP" is a piece of travel literature written in the form of a novella in the summer of 2005, and edited in the summer of 2011, the winter of 2012-13, and the summer of 2014. It is the outcome of a writing assignment into Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the fall of 2004 for Wanblee Isnala Arts. Its highlight is a 5 day backpacking trip occurring at the very end of the backpacking season in Isle Royale National Park which is federally designated as a wilderness. The reader will not only experience the author's adventure on land, but on "sea" too, and will learn about loons, pike, moose, wolves and Lake Superior agates as well as other "gems" of God's creation.
