Christians have been debating about drinking alcohol for decades. From some churches using wine during Communion to others strictly prohibiting any use, from Christians brewing beer at home to those advocating complete abstinence, this controversial subject touches cultures and consciences worldwide.
These reflections from book four in the Powder Room not only uncork myths and mire, but also add bubbly banter and intoxicating intrigue to decades’ worth of dilemmas.
Yes, Jesus drank wine, but was it “purified water†as some contend? Yes, the Bible says not to be drunkards, but does that include a beer while watching a football game? Yes, some people become alcoholics, but not everyone.
Thoroughly considered—in a Thoroughly-Modern-Millie kind of way—are all aspects of this Christian dilemma including current, historical, biblical, medical, spiritual, emotional, physical, and even criminal issues.
Written not to condone or condemn, a variety of views are brought to the table and served with flair, foaming with robust flavors and fizz!
