New York Justice: From the Journals of the Street Vigilante (Book I)

It's the 90s in New York. The twin towers of the World Trade Center hover over the city from Downtown Manhattan. The cell phone generation, the Internet, and the video surveillance cameras that record every public moment of our lives are all in their infancy. People smoke in their offices. Leave messages on answering machines. Wear pagers. Take photographs with cameras that use film. Listen to rock music played by Guns N' Roses on their Walkmans. Go to baseball games at Shea Stadium and the original Yankee Stadium. Drug dealers operate brazenly on busy street corners, in broad daylight, and crack cocaine is everywhere, South American druglords flooding New York with their product. The NYPD is notoriously corrupt, half the department taking money, the other half turning a blind eye to it all.
And in those corrupt streets...
Over two-thousand murders a year have New York's citizens literally scared to death. The Sicilian Mafia is the organized crime powerhouse in the five boroughs, making millions from the fear and suffering they control.
Into that world, a world that existed not too long ago, comes the Street Vigilante. An ultraviolent psycho whose only purpose in life is to kill every criminal he can before he is, himself, shot dead in those very same streets by one of those very same criminals. A psycho...because, in order to fight the city's psychos...sometimes...good needs a psycho of its own. Who will fight crime in New York City?
