The spines are matching with six compartments and five raised bands. In one compartment of each volume is the name of the season (the four "secular" seasons rather than the seasons of the Christian Kalendar) and in a second compartment is the title, "Missel de Paris" in gilt lettering. The remaining compartments have extensive gilt decoration. Gilt decoration along the edges of the boards. Each volume has contemporary hand-marbled endpapers. All page edges are gilt. Each volume has occasional and unobtrusive library stamps of Bibliotheca Pusieana Oxon. and library markings on the front endpapers, and there is the expected shelf wear to the edges and corners, with a few small losses. The interior of the volumes is otherwise bright and clean and free of significant marking, soiling, or staining.
