Concepts of Modern Physics Second Edition

This is an excellent early 70's modern physics textbook that requires an understanding of classical physics and calculus. Relativity and quantum theory are considered first and are explained well. The book also discusses the theory of the atom and is developed with emphasis on on quantum-mechanical notions and is followed with properties of atoms. Then atomic nuclei and elementary particles are examined.
