Diary Of a Voyage Around Cape Horn in 1849 to California

Unpublished diary of Dr. J. C. Tucker, who traveled on the sailing ship Tarolinta from the east coast of the US in the early spring of 1849 around Cape Horn to San Francisco. At times harrowing, at times dangerous, at times drunken, it is an amusing and rare glimpse into what it took just to get to the California Gold Rush. (and it wasn't easy!)
