This book introduces the reader to the fundamental features of the C programming language, including data types, operators, conditional execution, arrays, pointers, strings, enumerations, structures, unions, typedefs, type conversion, functions, memory, the preprocessor, bitwise operations, input/output, and the standard library. The book uses the ANSI C standard and emphasizes the C language’s close connection to assembly language and the hardware on which C programs run. The author has made a special effort to format the book so that the text and illustrations display in a readable form on the Kindle and in the Kindle apps.
