This book tells the nightmare experiences that I encountered while raising my profoundly mentally and physically challenged daughter as a single mother.

At 5 days old, Tania was severely brain damaged by negligence of the hospital staff in Toronto. Although I was advised to leave her at the hospital and "go on with my life," I decided against their advice. I quit my job and embarked on an extraordinary difficult journey.

Tania passed away at age 31 years of age and for all of those years I advocated and fought for the best possible care for her. This entailed fighting the medical community, the school system and even the government. My strident activism branded me as "unfit" and I was threatened repeatedly with the possibility of my daughter being taken away.
