Image Steganography: "The Art of Information hiding in images"

Steganography is a method for communicating secretly by embedding messages within innocent looking medium.

The aim of this field is to avoid the suspicion of an existing message. If suspicion is raised then this goal has failed. Steganalysis is the process of detecting the use of steganography within a given medium.

This report describes the potential use of steganography and how they can be misused, using steganalysis to prevent the wrong doings.

In this report, we identify current applications that produce steganography in digital images and experiment their algorithm for hiding information. We will also introduce available tool for achieving steganalysis and explain their methods for detecting hidden information.

This paper focuses on a particular field of study in information technology known as Steganography and steganalysis.

This paper aims to take an in-depth look at these technologies by introducing the reader to some of the concepts associated with them, a brief history of steganography and a look at some of the available tools for this method.

Furthermore an experiment will be demonstrated to measure the effectiveness of applications of this field.
