Description
By the author of "Travels with a 2CV"
Annie, in her twenties, has been posted to Oman to work in a predominately male world. On the eve of her departure from the UK, her friend, Cara, in a moment of alcohol-induced rashness, bets £1000 that Annie will not be hitched to a man before her return.
Annie’s letters to Cara describe the ups and downs of expat. life as well as her impressions of the country, its beautiful beaches, wadis and mountains. Determined to enjoy her freedom, Annie has to resist gorgeous Eamon, dependable Tom and boyish Dave and fend off charming André and one or two Alis.
But all good things must come to an end and Annie finds that even paradise is tinged with tragedy.
Based on the personal experience of the author, this is Annie’s view of life in Oman. Most of the places are real but the characters exist only in the author’s imagination.
