TORMENT

Written by USMC MGySgt. Clyde "Bones" Rathbone with J.A. Hitchcock, Torment tells the story of Sam "Slim" Scanlon, a young man who joins the Marines, sees the world and deals with his personal torment. Set in the United States, Vietnam and Okinawa, Torment tells Slim's tale in the first person. Based on Rathbone's actual experiences, Torment brings the Marine Corps proudly to life, while throwing in humorous tidbits sure to please any reader.
"When I started out writing this, it was more just me and my experiences," Rathbone said. "Then when I got hooked up with Hitchcock, we changed it around and brought Sam Scanlon to life."
Torment combines war, love, hate, peace and life in a way that makes appealing to men and women alike.
"There's not much gushy stuff," Hitchcock noted. "We didn't want to turn off the men, but we also wanted women to enjoy it, too."
