Spurgeon And His "Gold"

This account of the life of Charles H. Spurgeon is taken from a work entitled "Famous Leaders Among Men" by Sarah Knowles Bolton which was copyrighted in 1894. This work included biographies of John Bunyan, Henry Ward Beecher, General William Tecumseh Sherman, along with several others, in addition to that of Spurgeon.
Spurgeon’s Gold by Edmond Hez Swem, published in 1888,contains many of the best proverbs from the works of Charles H. Spurgeon, the greatest of London preachers, whose sermons and books are read all over the world.
Swem's desire was that Spurgeon's best thoughts be read and remembered by those who have not the leisure to search the voluminous works of the prince of speakers, great author, philanthropist, and educator.
