Zbigniew Brzezinski was born in Warsaw, Poland, in the year 1928. He was born to a noble family that originally hailed from from Brzezany in Galicia. The name Brzezinski seems to be a derivation of the city name, Brzezany. Zbigniews father, Tadeusz Brzezinski, was a Polish diplomat who worked as an ambassador for the government. Beginning in 1931, Tadeusz Brzezinski worked on relations between the Poles and the Germans, during the time that the Nazis were gaining power in Germany.
