Google Apps is a web based office suite that offers a lot of useful tools which build a proper basis in order to improve collaborative work. Shared calendars, address books and text processing are a few among them.
As it’s the power of case management to stick all the information together and to bundle it into cases, an additional application, the case database, will be developed so that administration will be easier. This application will be running on Google App Engine, Google’s hosting service, in order to achieve better integration with Google Apps.
Furthermore, theGoogle Web Toolkitwill be used, what makes it possible to develop a rich user interface with high usability.
After gathering information about basic functionality of Case Management Systems, the paper will first examine and then demonstrate how the different technologies and products can successfully be combined and implemented, as well as how solutions for special legal technology features can be realized.
