FOLLOWING THE CROWD - How We Fall In Line With Others
Description
Because we do not have a strong sense-of-self at an early age we are susceptible to the influences of the good and bad ideas that surround us. This means is that we will likely adopt a submissive position to those who are more experienced and forceful than ourselves… at least initially. We may even maintain that behavior for a lifetime. After all it is our genetic programming which requires that there be far more followers than leaders in society. An example of people being influenced by charisma and false message, rather than substance, would be the various hate based and quasi-religious cults. They have become adept at capturing easy believers. If you think this crowd following mentality has not a serious problem, let me remind you of Wako TX, Jim Jones (Jonestown) and Charles Manson.
