Description
This is an approximate 2800 word illustrated monograph of the life and death of the nororious criminalJohn Dillinger. It is basically a Cliffs Notes for busy people.
By 1934, there was chaos in America as criminal enterprises ran amuck. J. Edgar Hoover authorized “Flying Squads;” special squads to capture the most notorious gangsters such as John Herbert Dillinger, Jr. (June 22, 1903 – July 22, 1934), who flagrantly violated federal law during the commission of his crimes.
In retrospect the Depression-era outlaw Dillinger, was the most notorious of all, standing out even among more violent criminals such as Baby Face Nelson, Pretty Boy Floyd, and Bonnie and Clyde. He was just Robin Hood, one who stole from the rich banks, and as an ancillary benefit, sometimes destroyed the mortgage records at the banks they hit. The daring robberies, and skilled getaways, were fantasies for Americans who had lost everything.
