What Other Say
Dear Fellow Travelers,
I was fortunate to meet Dr. Sparks on a visit to Indiana in January of this year. As soon as we started our road trip home I began reading his book. Over a lifetime of reading books by pastors and fellow Christians, I have never received such a benefit as I have from How to Build Faith that Works. It is written in a style that brings Dr. Sparks personal walk into a perspective that we can absorb and adopt to change our lives. After reading it to myself, I read it to my husband who also gained benefits from the wisdom related. Dr. Sparks method of writing offers concepts and questions we can ask ourselves at the end of each chapter which would also make the book an excellent choice for Sunday Schools and home Bible study groups. By reading this book, I believe we can all begin to learn God's purpose for our lives. May this be a wonderful blessing for you and your loved ones.

If I could have understood many years ago all that is contained in this book, it would have saved me years of searching and praying about, "For what was I created?" Even though I believed in Jesus as a very young child, it has taken me decades to know that I had a destiny. As a result of reading and meditating on sections of this book I found that my destiny was rooted in my identity resulting from knowing the Christ in me. It helped me to experience the love of my Abba Father and to know that I was accepted "just as I am." No matter your age, if you are still searching for answers, I would highly recommend that you begin reading this book today.

Snippet from Introduction
Man, who is born of woman, is of short days and full of trouble (Job 14: 1).
That scripture has always bothered me, and thirty years ago I would probably have disagreed with it, silently of course. Life and time being the tutors they are, today I can testify to its truth. It is no secret that the offices of counselors, physicians, and pastors are overflowing with tormented people “full of trouble.†The nightly news headlines further chronicle cultures in crisis and chaos. Certainly this is not God’s will and plan for humanity. If not, then can the roots of man’s desperation be uncovered and understood?
You play out life experiences on your own self’s concept stage. How you must see yourself, in view of what scripture says, is what this book is about. Seeing yourself in the light of what God says is a process of understanding. Without that understanding, you flounder in your own carnal way of thinking. The principles presented are essential before healing can take place from earlier wounds.
