Survival

The human race had grown so large there was no longer a place on Earth to expand. Scientist searched everywhere; people were dying. The universe was full; then someone suggested cyber-space and the expansion began. The new settlement ran well for the first few months then something happened. Communication was lost. Anyone sent in never came back. What was happening?
