The purpose of this research study is to gain in-depth knowledge of the Resolute Prophets of Islam supported with evidence based references from the Quran and Ahadith. Accordingly, the primary sources used are: Tafsir Ibn Kathir and Kutub Sitta (six books of Sunah), namely: (i) Sahih Bukhari; (ii) Sahih Muslim; (iii) Sunan Abu Dawud; (iv) Jami At-Tirmidhi; (v) Sunan Nas’i and (vi) Sunan Ibn Majah.
This treatise consists of study of the five Resolute Prophets of Islam, namely: NUH (NOAH); IBRAHIM (ABRAHAM); MUSA (MOSES); ISA (JESUS); and MUHAMMAD (AHMAD)- peace be upon all of them. It consists of nine (9) chapters. Chapter 1 consists of Introduction. Chapter 2 consists of study of True Perspective of Prophethood and covers topics: Prophethood in Islam and the historic struggle of the Prophets. Chapter 3 consits of study of the Prophethoog of Nuh; Chapter 4 consists of study of the Prophethood of Ibrahim. Chapter 5 consists of study of the Prophethood of Musa and covers topics such as: Introduction, Background, Musa’s (Moses) Youth, Musa’s Prophethood Call, Conversation Between Musa And Fir’awn, Contests And Prophet Musa Converts Egyptian Magicians, Prophet Musa Gets Water And Food, For His People In The Desert, On The Command Of Allah [SWT], Prophet Musa Sees The Glory On The Mountain, Prophet Musa Reproves His People For Calf-Worship, Prophet Musa Advises Israelites, Prophets Musa And Harun Died, and Prophet Musa’s Mission After Death Of Musa And Harun. Chapter 6 consists of study of the prophethood of Isa and covers topics such as: Introduction, Background To the Birth Of Isa, Jews Plot To Kill Isa, Delegation Of Christian From Najran In Support Of Divinity Of Isa In Madinah, Advice To The People Of The Book, and Isa’s Second Coming. Chapter 7 consists of brief study (detailed account is covered in the Author’s book entitled: A TREATISE ON MUHAMMAD: MESSENGER OF ALLAH AND THE SEAL OF THE PROPHETS) of the Prophethood of Muhammad and covers topics, such as: Introduction, Universal Prophet Sent To Mankind, The Perfection Of Soul And Nobility, Recipient Of Allah’s Special Favour Of Al-Isra And Al Miraj (The Ascesion), Recipient Of The Covenant From All Prophets To Belief In Him And Render Him Help Of The Prophethood: Last In The Line Of Prophets, Sent As A Favour And Mercy From Allah [swT], His Religion To Prevail Over All Religion, Which Is Perfected, and Concluding Remarks. Chapter 8 consists of study of the Culmination And Finality Of Prophethood. Chapter 8 consists of Summary and Conclusion.
The first of the prophets of power or resolve (ulu al-'azm) was Nuh (pbuh), referred to as najiyullah, the confidant of Allah, the father of humanity after the Deluge. The second prophet of resolve is Ibrahim (pbuh), khalilullah, the intimate friend of Allah (Qur'an An-Nisaa 4:125). With his son Isma'il (pbuh) he built the Ka'bah, the first house for the worship of God. The third one is Musa (pbuh), called kaleemullah, the one to whom God speaks (Qur'an An-Nisaa 4:164), the recipient of the Torah. He saved the people of Israel from Ramses II and brought the tablets with the Ten Commands. The fourth one is Isa (pbuh), ruhullah, the Word of God and His spirit and the recipient of the Enjeel, who was born from the Virgin Maryam. And fifth one finally Muhammad (pbuh) referred as habibullah, the most beloved of Allah, the last messenger of God to mankind, who blessed us with the Qur'an.
