The Eyes of Caravaggio

The life of the master painter, Caravaggio, was punctuated by fights and controversy. He was sentenced to death in Rome for the killing of a young man and had to flee to Malta, Sicily and ultimately Naples. At each stop he produced masterpieces for the Church, but was judged a troublemaker and paranoid. He died young under mysterious circumstances during a trip some say was to beg forgiveness so he could return to Rome. The author presents a fanciful story to account for the events in his chaotic life and his suspicious death.
