The Forest Edge Hotel looked different to Lucella Mongan when she returned to Gloucestershire. With Pia Bennett, her partner and lover, she had restored a decrepit old mansion into a luxury hotel. She realized it was her long absence that had changed the image of the hotel in her mind. An absence for which the childhood spent travelling the roads of England and Wales was largely responsible. The fact that Pia was aware of her inability to remain in one place for long, reassured her that a welcoming Pia would take her into her arms and then into her bed.
A delighted Pia greeted the beautiful and mysterious Lucella warmly but a problem was Ken Dalton, who had invested heavily in the hotel while Lucella had been absent. Dalton ran the popular adventure courses in the forest. Resenting Lucella’s return after seven years away, he took legal action to prevent her remaining as a partner.
So Pia and Lucella were involved in a court action they could not afford, while distracted by a sex-starved widow who had the hots for Pia, a 19 years-old hotel employee named Marsha who was keen to sample lesbian love, a guest who was a Member of Parliament’s wife who fell madly in love with Pia, a nympho television bi-sexual actress and a lovely black woman private investigator whose torrid affair with Lucella threatened her long time relationship with Pia.
In this environment that equalled the steaming heat of the forest adjacent to the hotel, Pia and Lucella seemed destined to lose the hotel that meant so much to them.
