Turning 40 with 4 Kids in a Size 4 Dress

How many of us graduate high school at our ideal body weight then trudge through life finding ourselves fifty, sometimes one hundred pounds overweight? I am a family physician in Jasper, Indiana. I just turned forty this year. I have four kids and am happy to say that I can squeeze into a size four dress. My child-bearing hips won't allow me to fit into a size two I am sorry to say. But the size four dress makes a better title anyway.

My three girls are in gymnastics, softball, basketball and whatever clubs at school they decide to join. My son just finished kindergarten so he is not too involved in things just yet.

I know exactly what it is like to be too busy to eat right and to exercise. When I discovered that my cholesterol was elevated, I decided to start tracking my fat grams and in the meantime tracked my calories, fiber grams, carbohydrate grams, and protein grams. While doing research, I came up with a formula to help my patients lose weight using the foods that they like to eat.
