Description
Her Divine Destiny is the original version of Her Divine Destiny (Cherry Blossom Garden). It is the authentic African-American Semi-Autobiographical Novel; which highlights the true African-American experience of the Old South, as told by its the author from stories told to her, by her mother. The story begins in the 1950's; its' setting in rural Georgia, and chronicles the life of the heroine Azalea Stevens. Azalea was a beautiful American born young woman of African-Caribbean heritage, and grew up in the little town of Sapphire Blue, Georgia; located near the beautiful picturesque City of Cherry Blossom; where the streets were lined with cherry blossom trees. Azalea descended from strong ancestral religious roots; that she would set aside to search for love, purpose, and fulfillment in life; instead through her dreams, desires, and passions. Azalea had grown up in a culturally diverse community where she had come to believe that all men were created equal; but would soon discover that there were racial barriers to her achieving her dreams. Realizing that nothing or no one stood in the way of her success; but herself, Azalea is more determined than ever to achieve her far-reaching dreams. In her driven quest motivated by the barriers that had been put in front her ancestors; which said they weren't good enough, she go from working as a seamstress in a dress factory, to becoming a beautiful bride, and finally a successful, prominent Fashion Designer. Azalea's desires would lead her on a path to love with the wrong men. The first, Winston Saunders, was selfish and self centered with no goals in life, except his own immediate needs and gratification. The second was named Jacque Marquette. Jacque had all of the outward characteristics that would attract any young woman. He was a very handsome young man, who knew he was good to look at, but was narcissistic. Although he seemed to have feelings for Azalea, but his greed to inherit his family's wealth was his true motivation. Azalea's passions would finally lead her on a path to finding true love with the man of her dreams; Lane Jenson. Lane was handsome, sauve, and debonair. He was also a fine young man with ambitions in life. In Azalea, he would find the strong woman he needed to love passionately, and to reach their dreams together; but just when they had finally reached the pinnacle of success, fate steps in, turning their seemingly perfect world upside down. Azalea’s plans may not have initially included God, but God’s plans had always included Azalea. Would the path she had originally chosen, be enough to see her through her trials, or would she finally choose God’s path for her life, that ultimately leads to “Her Divine Destiny?â€
