Audio-Digest Anesthesiology is specifically designed to provide the participant with state-of-the-art information including, but not limited to:
Hazards of working in the OR Hemostasis and hemotherapy Opioids vs. non-opioid anesthesia Inhalation anesthesia Muscle relaxants Local anesthetics Preoperative medication Airway management Monitoring the anesthetized patient Epidural and spinal anesthesia Peripheral nerve blockade Cancer therapy and its anesthetic implications The allergic response Anesthesia for nonoperative locations Postoperative recovery Management of acute and chronic pain The goals of this program are to reduce the incidence of perioperative anemia and to improve patient outcomes after undergoing electrophysiologic studies. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:

2: Weigh the risks and benefits associated with transfusion of blood products.
3: Recognize the indications for transfusions.
4: Minimize adverse reactions associated with anemia and transfusions through good preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative care.
5: Consider the unique aspects of surgery for interventional cardiology and their implications for anesthesia care.
